Cardiology Clinical Integration Team

 

Current Project Status

 

 

 

The Cardiology Clinical Integration Team has met seven times (November 3, 2003;

November 18, 2003; December 2, 2003; December 18, 2003; January 15, 2004,

February 11, 2004, March 2, 2004).  During these meetings more detailed data on

cardiology services for Desoto County was presented to the Integration members. 

After brainstorming and discussions the Integration team identified some

significant key issues:

 

  • Lack of cardiac/pulmonary services in Desoto County

  • Lack of a cardiologist and pulmonologist in Desoto County

  • Emergency Transportation concerns

  • Community attitudes towards local hospital 

 

The team also wants to focus on Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).  Heartland Rural

Health Network, Inc. is currently searching for grant opportunities. 

The vision would be to implement cardiac/pulmonary rehab services in

Desoto County so residents do not have to travel outside of the county for this service. 

 

Our next Desoto County Clinical Integration Team meeting will be announced

soon and will be held at Desoto Memorial Hospital.  Please check back often to get
